The Lazy Designer

Wix has been around for a decade now. I think it is pretty cool, now everyone can create their own website! Although when I first tried using Wix myself, being a hardcore hand coding web designer, I hated it. Why? I guess when it was new it wasn't that user friendly. Even the drag and drop feature to add elements confused me. Over time they have improved a lot. However I still do not look forward to using it. I cannot play cheat by editing the HTML - it's not even possible to view it in the website builder. An old dog is refusing to learn new skills? Enough about me ... An old friend wanted to create a website to feature her projects. She is very skilled in designing with Photoshop but clueless about building a website. She talked about getting my help to build it. Guess what, she built it herself in the end with Wix. And it looks really good! I was trying to help my yoga teacher to make her website. And she has done the first version using Wix. She asked for my advice ...

I live at the sunny Little Red Dot. You can call me the equator girl. As I've lived at the equatorial zone my entire life, as much as I dream to move to the rainy Emerald City half my life. In my past life, I was a cartographer aka a map maker. My major was really Urban Planning. As my lecturers always said, urban planning is about art and science. You studied this course and you can be anything. Sure ... Sorry to admit that I'm lazy... and am a designer, a web designer to be specific. Lazy, but yet want sexy designs. May be this is the struggle that not only I have. I decided to blog again, because I've been lazy. I want to jog my brain a little more, before it stops working all together. I'll try to focus my writing on design related topics, and as I am a very random person, beware of some inane topics coming along. When I am not designing, you can find me doing yoga, eating, cooking, reading. Although these days, mainly eating. Oh ya, and drinking coffee.
